Description

Workshop Description

This workshop will:

  • Explain how to interact with Biocluster2, log onto a compute node, and submit job scripts (using a SLURM scheduler)
  • Fulfill part of the pre-requisites needed for the upcoming RNA-Seq workshop. The other pre-requisite is a basic understanding of R.

This workshop being taught by CNRG & hosted by HPCBio (with the support of the OVCR) will be held February 15th from 9am - 12:30pm. Students will be introduced to the structure of IGB's computational cluster, Biocluster, and will learn how to interact with the cluster both interactively and via job scripts (a set of written instructions for the cluster to execute). Biocluster uses a SLURM scheduler, which is software that allows one to interact with computational clusters.

Important notes: Prior knowledge of Linux is required. Those planning on attending the RNA-Seq workshop will be prioritized. If you're attending the RNA-Seq workshop, and you get put on a waiting list initially, don't worry, we will make sure you can attend this.
